LAUREN FIELD has been coaching artists in the techniques of voice production for nine years, and has built a formidable reputation within the industry
Lauren has established a classically based training technique, which derives from her own training as well as her vast experience as a professional singer. Lauren's professional singing career has spanned 15 years during which time she has worked extensively as a session singer appearing on television in shows such as "Top of the Pops", "Wogan", "GMTV" "Pebble Mill" and on many local and national radio programmes. Her studio work has been busy and varied and has included engagements for many of the pop industry's top stars. She has trodden the boards many times on the West End stage and has recorded two solo albums as well as writing and producing numerous songs and themes for television and film. She has also worked in the world of variety and cabaret and knows only too well the rigours of performing night after night in all manner of venues. Lauren's interest in the workings of the human voice began some twelve years ago whilst she was undertaking a particularly grueling tour at a stressful time. She developed some problems and after expert consultation undertook a period of re-training. She started to experiment and explore the full range of possibilities thus beginning to formulate her own approach to the technique of coaching. The basis of which lies in classical training methods, but her unique way of putting ideas across to the student has made her well sought after. Lauren is currently coaching students from all walks of life in the art of voice production and says, "Everyone can benefit from voice training. We all use our voices, whether it is for singing or public speaking, acting or just everyday usage and we can all learn to make rounder, stronger and more resonant sounds, which will help us to project further and come across as more confident and assured." As a singer she is passionate about helping others to avoid some of the problems she has encountered and continues, "I am not particularly concerned with style, though of course I have covered most in my own career and am happy to help and guide in that area. Most of all however, I want to teach singers how to achieve the effects they desire in the healthiest way possible which will help to make them more versatile and therefore more employable as well as giving them career longevity."
